Celebrities committing suicide – 10 highly sensitive reasons

You often wonder why celebrities committing suicide are alarmingly high in recent times, don’t you?

The suicide of celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain was shocking. Yet another celebrity suicide that stunned the world was that of the fashion designer Kate Spade.

I enjoyed the acting of Robins Williams in Mrs.Doubtfire. His performance in the movie was rollicking and energetic. It remains one of my favorite movies to date.

When I saw the boisterous acting of Robin Williams in the movie, I imagined him to be a very fun loving person. I linked his reel life character with his real nature.

It is needless to say that I was shaken when I heard about his suicide. And the reason quoted for his suicide was depression.

Sad, isn’t it?

You are taken aback by the frequent news about celebrities committing suicide.

You wonder why they have to take their life when they lead an enviable lifestyle.

Most of you feel awed by the fame of celebrities, aren’t you?

Celebrity status always meant immense fame, tons of money and enviable recognition, doesn’t it?

Most of you crave for these things to happen to you.

It is your dream to live the lifestyle of celebrities, but it still remains a pipe dream for most of you.

This is the reason you feel that celebrities are born lucky to enjoy many good things in life. Such great is their popularity and social status that you literally gape at them.

You are in great awe about their life style. Their high profile lifestyle, the glitzy parties they attend and bashes they often throw makes you feel  celebrities are out of this world.

You gape at their bunglows, gasp with envy at their diamonds, and go green with jealousy by the limousines celebrities drive.

You always feel your life is a drudgery, compared to the life of celebrities, don’t you?

Most of you assume that celebrities are super human beings. You feel that the tons of money they earn is enough to buy them whatever they want in life.

Yes!

Celebrities do have everything you dream about.

It is true that celebrities have money to buy anything they want. And they indeed show off their wealth for the world to gape at them with awe.

  • Swanky cars.
  • Many luxurious bungalows.
  • Glittering diamonds.
  • Trendy dresses.
  • Recognition wherever they go.
  • Celebrities have the fame which you cannot imagine of acquiring.
  • They have the money which you can never dream of earning.
  • They have a fan following which is beyond your imagination.
  • They move along with the topmost crust of the social circle – sometimes with the royalty also.

What more can they ask, you wonder.

So, you build up a super human image of the celebrities. Since they have all that you crave for in your life, you assume that they live a life of utter happiness and fulfillment without a worry in the world.

Naturally, you feel celebrities have nothing more to ask for.

Can you see how much you are concentrating on the outer show of glitz and glamor of the celebrities?

But, you never know that they are missing many things in life which money cannot buy them.

The pressure of looking happy even when feeling wretched is one of the top reason for celebrities committing suicide.

Here are 10 shocking reasons for celebrities committing suicide

1. Celebrities miss living a normal life

Celebrities cannot live a normal life like you and me. They cannot roam about doing what they like.

Celebrities are mobbed wherever they go. There are times they long for a whiff of freedom to do things they like without the scanning eyes of the public and the media.

They crave for a normal life, but it remains a distant dream to them.

2. Stress and tension about keep their success intact

Success of the celebrities was not as easy as you think it to be.

Celebrities experience tons of rebuffs and shaming before acquiring their enviable celebrity status.

And even after grabbing what they so craved for, celebrities have to be on their toes to keep their success intact.

3. Celebrities lack privacy

How will you feel if you were always watched by the media?

How will you react when your personal outings are greedily clicked by the paparazzi?

Might be initially you will feel heady with happiness that you  have become so famous that the media wants to make everything you do public.

But after a certain period of time you become a nervous wreck that you cannot do a thing without being clicked.

Celebrities often feel that the media intrudes too much into their personal zone. They do not like it a wee bit. But celebrities can do nothing about it.

Intrusion into their personal life is the price celebrities pay for their fame.

4. Celebrities lead a lonely and stressful life

Do you know many celebrities feel very lonely in spite of their elevated social status?

You feel they are so well entrenched in life that they are beyond the normal problems of normal people. You assume that the laughing façade of the celebrities is their real self.

You are very wrong in feeling so.

Celebrities have to put on a façade of confidence even when they are feeling low. They know that their fame and wealth is not permanent. They are terrified they might lose it any time.

So, they have to be on their toes to keep their pedestal in their hold. And it is not an easy joke.

5. Celebrities lose sight of reality

Fame isolates celebrities from the reality of life.

Celebrities are too taken away by their fame that they think that they are some sort of a demi-god. They become arrogant and haughty as if they are way above others.

This is where celebrities fall flat on their face. Fame is very fickle and the celebrity status of the famous people lasts only as long as their top position lasts.

When fame disappears from the life of the celebrities, their world comes crumbling to their feet.

Celebrities find it impossible to lead a normal life where no one recognizes them. It is as though their lifeline has been plucked away from them. This is one of the topmost reasons of celebrities committing suicide.

6. Celebrities feel stressed by the pressure of putting on an artificial facade

Of course, celebrities have the fame and wealth you can never dream of. And it is also true that there are times when they behave like demi gods, with the world at their feet.

It is all a feeble attempt to project themselves as superior beings. But underneath the arrogant behavior of the celebrities, they are as human as you and I are.

And believe me; their celebrity status makes them feel even more insecure about their future than us.

7. Celebrities are taken aback when success is plucked away from them

Celebrities are always on the pressure to maintain their high profile lifestyle so that they do not lose their social status. So, the need for money is more intense for them. As long as celebrities are famous, money is not a problem with them.

But when their fame diminishes, money also disappears from their life. Most celebrities are taken off guard when they lose their fame, as most of them live a life of extravagance thinking that fame and affluence will continue throughout their life.

8. Having to look happy even when being unhappy

Celebrities have to look their best always. They might have many personal problems. But they have to bury it within themselves and smile at the camera.

Their inner bleeding of emotions makes them feel shattered and demoralized.

Do you know that the incapacity of coping with the agony they feel leads to celebrities committing suicide?

9. Celebrities are a lonely lot

Celebrities feel lonely, as they know that the social circle they move along do not care for them, but cares only for their fame and wealth.

Though celebrities outwardly show themselves as enjoying their limelight, inwardly they feel alienated from the crowd they move along with.

Making meaningless conversation and doing things which is really not them makes the life of celebrities have the velocity of a volcano.

They craved for such recognition when they were struggling, but when they get it they are alarmed at the artificiality involved in it.

They cannot live without fame and money as they have got too used to it. But they also find it suffocating to live among people who never really care for them.

10. Celebrities search for true love

The love life of celebrities is also not exactly what they dreamed of. They are loved for their wealth and fame.

And unthinkingly they always select a person who is equal to them in celebrity status. They realize rather late that love has nothing to do with money and fame.

So, they keep jumping from one person to another searching for true love. Invariably they don’t get it.  They might truly love a person, but when he\she loves them for money, they cannot bear the agony of it.

Love failure is also one of the reasons of celebrities committing suicide.

CONCLUSION

“With fame, you can’t trust everybody. You can’t depend on them being there for you as a person. They will only be there because of what you’ve got you as a person. They will only be there because of what you’ve got and what you can bring to their life. It’s not a relationship-it’s a leech.” –  Chris Brown

Can you see how celebrities lead a life of uncertainty and doubtfulness all through their life?

Behind their smile lies their vulnerable and sensitive mind. Behind their high profile life, lies a wish to lead a normal life like you and me.

Behind their high social circle lies a yearning to mingle with people who really care for them. Sadly, celebrities never get it. It is the bitter price they pay for their fame and recognition.
