Many of you crave that God blesses you with all his grace, don’t you?
I am no different from you. When I was undergoing tremendous trauma in my life, I totally believed that God would do miracles to make me come out of my seemingly never-ending problems.
My life was full of trauma and nightmares. When my husband was diagnosed with renal failure, my world started spinning. I could not believe it happening to me. I begged God with folded hands to save my husband from the dreadful illness he was suffering.
Typically like an Indian wife, I offered to tonsure my hair if God saved my husband. But my prayers were of no avail. God did not answer my prayers. I lost my husband and along with it my happiness.
I was angry with God because he refused to answer my prayers. I vowed that I would never pray or go to a temple, ever again in my life.
One day I was talking with my brother about the cruelty of God.
“Can you see how cruel God has been to me?” tears welled in my eyes.
“I begged and pleaded with God to save my husband. But he never listened to my prayer” I was confirmed if God was kind, he would have saved my husband.
“Our life is like a pre-recorded video. What is destined to happen to us will definitely happen. God can never change it” my brother smiled at me affectionately.
“Why do you feel that God has been cruel to you? Do you know you are very blessed? I thought you would collapse emotionally when your husband passed away. But here you are, courageous and strong enough to single handedly bring up your daughter. God had blessed you with courage and will power, in spite of the trauma you faced in your life” my brother reasoned with me.
“Just imagine your life if God had not blessed you with such courage. You would be wallowing is self-pity and messed up your life” I was stunned when I saw the truth behind my brother’s reasoning.
My brother opened my eyes to the magnitude of God’s blessings. I felt in awe about how God had resurrected me from being a nothing, to a person who had the guts to live through my life with courage and boldness.
It would have been impossible if God did not bless me.
Yes!
We as human beings never the know the way God blesses us. This is the reason we never realize our blessings. We never acknowledge the tons of gifts God has showered on us. In our mindset, the blessings of God only meant wealth, money and great social status.
Many a time you too might have felt that God never answers your prayers.
Most of you want God to descend from the skies to shower you with money and wealth. Sadly, the way of God never works this way.
His way of helping you is different from your expectations.
God blesses you by being your guide to take you towards the right path in your life. He blesses you with multitude of good things in life. Without His blessings, your life would never have been wholesome. Sadly, you never acknowledge your blessings.
You feel God is blessing you, only when you have tons of money.
Yes!
Nowadays, most of you relate the blessings of God with the way you are wealthy and affluent. When you are not as affluent as your friends\relatives, you feel that God has been unkind to you.
You can never be more wrong.
Money is just a buying power. Of course, without money your self-respect is at stake. You cannot lead your life on your terms and conditions without money.
But being wealthy, does not in any way signify that you are blessed. Your wealth just shows that you have a great social status.
Unknowing to you, God blesses you with many things in your life.
1. A stable mindset
Unless you have a stable mindset, you cannot survive in this harsh world. Sadly, you take your discerning mind for granted.
Have you seen the mentally challenged people?
They are totally dependent on others for their day-to-day activities. But you overlook the fact that you are gifted with a brain, which can discern what is good and the bad.
You wrongly assume that the clarity of your mind is something that is rightfully ours.
You should feel overwhelmed by the Grace of God who has gifted you with a brain which can think for you and motivate you for your success.
2. Your perfect body
You also take your perfect body for granted.
You fervently wish that you could have been a little taller, your eyes could have been bigger, or that you could have been slim like some of your friends. You curse your luck when you are not as good looking as you expected.
Can you see how petty your thoughts are?
Have you seen people who are physically challenged?
The blind cannot see. The lame cannot walk. And there are many more people who have impaired limbs.
But the physically challenged people, live their lives with a courage which most of you do not have. They are happy for what they have, and do not crib about what they do not have.
The physically challenged use their will power to master some talent. We often see children with impaired arms drawing with their legs. The physically challenged people give a rocking dance performance.
When you see such courageous people, you show draw your courage from them.
Can you see that God blesses you when you have a perfect body?
Be thankful for it.
3. The days we are alive
Do you ever realize when you get up in the morning, there are millions of people who are breathing their last breath?
Each and every day is the blessing of God. So, you should feel content to be breathing and alive.
You have food to eat and a shelter over your head. These are tremendous blessings of God.
Unless you are content for what you have, there can be no happiness in your life.
4. Awesome nature
The sun rises in the East and sets in the West with uncanny regularity. The solar system of this magnificent world is that awesomely methodical in its performance.
Imagine one irregularity in the solar system.
The whole world will go haywire. God has also blessed you with the vast sea, forest, air and the sun.
You think of nature only when it is destructive. But you cease to count your blessings, when nature is in its serene beauty.
We have misused nature that God has blessed us with to the maximum, that we now have unseasonal rains, floods, cyclones and other natural calamities, all through the world.
Treasure the nature God has blessed you with.
5. Family is our blessing
God has blessed you with a good family. But often you overlook your blessing and make a mess of your family life.
You curse God for your relationship problems, as if he was the reason behind your agony when your family life is shattered.
The reason behind your family problems is not God. It is the way you mishandled your family life.
Unless you realize the agony of orphans who yearn for some sort of relationship, you will never treasure your family life.
Conclusion
“I walk in a space of gratitude. I’m so grateful to God for blessing me with an amazing family and the opportunity to do what I love.” Jurnee Smollett-Bell
There are some who might argue that there is no God, because He is not visible to your eyes.
Can you see air?
You cannot.
But without air, there is no life in the world.
Can you see love?
No,
You cannot.
Love is an emotion which makes your life worthwhile.
Just like air, God exists everywhere.
You can easily feel Him when you count your blessings. Just like the invisible oxygen you drastically need for your survival; God is everywhere in your life.
You just cannot exist without his blessings.
Like love, God should be felt.
So, feel Him and feel blessed.
