Are you astonished, when I say that you can live big without spending extra money?
Most of you feel, that living big means having tons of money. Living big to you means having a great social status. It also means moving along the top crust of the elite society.
The concept, that you can live big without spending extra money sounds foolish to you, doesn’t it?
You are very wrong in thinking so. Living big does not need your money. It just needs your mindset of being content and satisfied with your life.
Will it surprise you if I say that you can be a pauper, even if you have tons of money?
When you feel discontent with your life, the richness you possess means nothing to you. When you do not feel happy with what you are blessed with, you are more like a pauper.
Comparing your life with others is a mistake you constantly make. You always compare your lifestyle with your friends\relatives\colleagues, and find your life lacking and deficient to you.
You feel downcast, that your car is smaller than that of your friends. You are unhappy, that your spouse is not as successful as that of your colleagues\relatives. You are stressed that your house is too small, compared to the big houses the rich people own.
Can you see how pauper you are in your thoughts?
When you are poor in your thoughts, however rich you might become, you will never feel content or satisfied with your blessings. Your negative mindset, will always consider yourself to be nothing compared to others.
How can you ever feel rich, when your thoughts are so poor?
You must become rich in your thoughts to enjoy your materialistic richness.
Are you confused?
You will feel poor, because though you possess many good things in life, you want what others have.
Let us suppose you are very rich and that you are overflowing with money. You own a big bungalow, swanky cars, glittering diamonds and tons of trendy dresses. But if you feel dissatisfied with your lifestyle, because your friends\relatives are richer than you, your comparing attitude makes you feel more like a pauper.
Yes!
When you are not quite satisfied with your social status, because you have a much richer friend who has more money than you, you are instantly converted into a pauper. When you yearn for the social status of your friend, it just shows your poor mentality.
On the contrary, you might not have tons of money. But when you are satisfied with what you have got, this is called living big without spending extra money.
You are rich in your mind. The satisfaction you have about your life is worth millions of dollars. So, contentment and satisfaction are the key ingredients to live big without spending extra money.
Most of you would disagree with me.
You feel feeling content at your mediocre life is a wrong attitude. You are sure that, when you feel content about your run-of-the-mill lifestyle, it will only make you lax and lazy.
No!
I am not implying that you remain stagnant in your life, and let your mediocrity rule you. It would be a downright foolish thing to do. You must indeed earn lots of money, as this mercenary society respects you for your affluence. But you should never feel that money is the be all of your life. Because, it is not.
Money can buy you many great social status things. But it can never buy you happiness.
Comparing your life with others will only make you feel, that you are not good enough. When the feeling that you are not good enough gets embedded in your mind, you will brood and fret about the non-existent things in your life.
You must understand the simple fact of life, to feel blessed and happy.
What you are blessed with, no one else will have it. What you have got in your life, is something no one will have. What others are blessed with; you cannot dream of having.
This is the basic rule of life for everyone, across the world.
You cannot hope to be a Bill Gates\ Ellon Musk\ Mark Zuckerberg. Their success and fame are their own. You cannot dream of having it.
But however rich they are, they cannot have your aura. You might have certain blessings which they can never dream of having, however rich they are.
Every human being in this world has something unique, which others can never dream of having.
The royals might have fame. But you have the privacy, which they can never dream of.
Who knows?
The royals might be yearning to have fun and frolic like you, without the world ogling at them. But you want to like the royals. You want others to ogle at you in awe.
Do you think that the glittering diamonds and the limousine they are travelling would make the royals happy?
It cannot.
Happiness is not about diamonds and palace. It is about how content you are feeling. There are times, when you are happier than the celebrities.
So, stop thinking that only money can make you feel happy. Money can only make you rich, it can never make you feel happy.
It is your attitude towards your life that makes you feel rich or poor.
- Always count your blessings.
- Be content with what you have.
- Work towards becoming rich, without peeping into another people’s life.
- Do not ever compare your life with others.
- Do not ever underestimate yourself.
- Never ever overestimate others.
Accept your life as it is, but do not become resigned to your mediocrity. Mediocrity should always be thrown out. Comparing your life with others is also a habit, you should never indulge in.
A poor man who is satisfied with the food he has got today is living big. A rich man who is dissatisfied with his riches, because it is less than his friends is a pauper.
Living your life on your own terms and conditions is the only way to live rich without spending extra money.
