Relieve your stress- 5 easy and practical solutions!

You would give anything to relieve your stress, won’t you?

Living without stress is your dream. But sadly, it becomes a distant dream as the modern world forcefully makes you feel stressed out always.

In fact, you face stress in all aspects of your life.

Do you want to know the most commonly used word in this modern society?

It is stress.

  • I am stressed by my relationship problems.
  • I am stressed by the pressures I face in my work place.
  • I am stressed by my never-ending responsibilities.
  • I am stressed about the financial future of my family.

Can you see that you feel stressed for almost everything in your life?

And the saddest thing is that even small children undergo tremendous stress in their young age itself.

  • Children have exam stress.
  • They are stressed by the insensitive attitude of their parents.
  • They are stressed by the comparison they consistently face.
  • Children are also stressed by the expectations parents place over them.

So, stress is all prevalent and all prevailing in this modern society.

In my younger days, I did not know what stress meant. We lived our lives as how young children should, without stress and tension.

But today’s younger generation are not that lucky. They have high expectations thrust on them by their parents. This makes young children feel stressed and tensed when they have to overwork themselves.

This is not the life young children should be leading

Why are you so stressed in your day-to-day life?

The answer is very simple.

The world has become a rat race with everyone trying to out beat the other.

You face stress in almost every aspect of your life.

Here goes!

Stress in your workplace

  • When you perform a little lesser than your colleagues, you feel that you are not worthy and capable. You are stressed that you are destined to fail in your life.
  • You are stressed when your juniors get all the acclaim and you get all the brickbats.
  • You are stressed by your overwhelming work load.

The stress you thrust on your children

  • You always want your children to perform well in their studies and so put enormous pressure in their young mind.
  • They do not have time to behave like children, as their time is crammed with extra-curricular activities.
  • You want to prove to the world that they are wonder children with various talents. But, you never know that the pressures you put on your children makes them very unhappy.

Stress in your relationship

  • You have many differences of opinion with your spouse.
  • You feel suffocated by the unrelenting nature of your spouse.
  • You are stressed when the love between you no longer seems to exist.
  • You feel stressed when you are unable to spend quality time with your family as your total concentration is on making yourself financially stable.

You assume that you are feeling stressed for the right reasons.

“It is so easy for you to say that I must not feel stressed. But, I cannot avoid it because of the problems I face in all spheres of my life” most you have this mindset.

Do you feel that I am being unrealistic in saying that you can divert your mind from your stress?

I speak from my experience because I also was a victim of stress.

A few years ago, I experienced nothing in my life, except stress. I felt that I was destined to suffer when I was undergoing many harrowing experiences in my life.

My mind was filled with pessimistic thoughts. The stress  my miserable situation thrust on me made me dejected and gloomy. But luckily, my inborn confidence pulled me out of the mental rut I had fallen into

You too can relieve your stress if you make up your mind to never let it dominate your life.

You will be amazed when small changes in your habits and mindset works wonders in your life.

Shall we look at the top ways to relieve your stress?

1. Listening to music

Music can unwind your tensed nerves in a stunning way.

When you are overwhelmingly stressed and tensed, select a quiet corner in your home. Be away from sounds.

Let the lights be dim. Relax in a comfortable chair. Close your eyes and play the music you love.

When you feel the melody of the music flowing into your ears, your nerves begin to unwind from the tension you are feeling.

Music is a wonder medicine to relieve your stress.

2. Meditation

Most of you feel that meditation is a very difficult thing to do, isn’t it?

You are wrong.

Meditation is nothing but bringing your mind into focus.

You will be unable to concentrate if you have an amalgam of thoughts when you are meditating. You will be confused if your mind is thinking about tons of things.

Concentrate on one thought that gives you intense pleasure. I always think of my daughter when I am meditating.

You too should focus your mind on something that makes you happy.

Select a quiet place and sit in an erect posture and close your eyes. Breathe deeply in and breathe out, rhythmically. Keep your mind focused on one thought. The stillness and your focus makes your mind clear and stress free.

Try it to relieve your stress and enjoy the peace it gives.

3. Spending quality time with your family

Most you unfold your tension on your family and completely deviate from them, as if they were the reason behind your stress.

You are doing it all wrong.

Nothing can make you happier than spending quality time with your family.

Spend fun moments with your family. Joke with them, and have playful time with them.

A rare scene in this modern world, isn’t it?

Try doing it and you will be amazed to see how much it relieves your stress.

4. Developing the mindset that this too shall pass

Do you feel that your problems are there to stay with you forever?

Most of you feel that your life would always be engulfed with problems. This is the reason why you feel tensed and stressed about the future of your life.

Have you noticed the seasons?

It is not always summer. It is not always winter, autumn; spring either. One season follows the other.

It is God’s way of showing that your life too would have changes. Your problems are not there to stay with you. The problems you face are actually there to chisel you into a fine person.

Believe me, you would emerge a different and more mature person after you handle your problems.

So, relieve your stress by knowing that your problems are like passing clouds – very fleeting and very temporary.

5. Practicing happiness

Do you think you are the only person suffering in this whole world?

You are wrong.

Behind their smiling façade, everyone has a problem.

So, do not feel that you are the only one suffering in the whole world and feel stressed about it.

Practice the habit of smiling. Do not let the outside world see your problems, as it is not bothered about it.

When you pull your lips down, the whole world looks depressing and gloomy. When you lift your lips upwards with a smile, you see the world smiling back at you.

Conclusion

“Within you, there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself” – Hermann Hesse

Your life is happy or unhappy according to your mindset. You can look at everything in your life with pessimism and feel stressed. Or you can look at your life positively, and be happy.

The choice is entirely yours!
